New SMT Line Increases Capacity and Capability at Corintech.

Corintech, the Fordingbridge based electronic product design and manufacturing company has upgraded its SMT capability by adding a new line of two Tyco Mirae MPS-1025P placement machines. This line combined with a Pulsar reflow oven represents the latest £200,000 capital re-investment in the company’s UK manufacturing facility. The SMT line and reflow can provide a fully RoHS compliant process for circuits up to 410mm x 360mmm in size.

The newly commissioned line is located in Corintech’s recently enlarged clean rooms and can handle component placement for both thick film hybrids and PCBs. The line is able to place components at a rate of up to 28,000 off per hour and has the ability to handle the latest component package sizes including 0201s, uBGAs and bare die down to single LEDs. Not only do the machines demonstrate excellent placement rates for today’s miniature components but the set up and change over time is significantly reduced as well.

Overall the re-investment has given Corintech a leading edge SMT line with excellent technical capabilities combined with greater flexibility and efficiency in fast job changeovers. Ideal for the fast turnaround of smaller batches of densely packed circuits the UK facility specialises in.
